The CLSO is a well-established and highly regarded symphony orchestra, celebrated for its musical excellence and strong commitment to community engagement.
Auditions for our 17th Season are now open. We are looking for new players in strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion.
We are an exciting community symphony orchestra based in Alexandria, Minnesota. Our group is highly talented with both professional and amateur musicians. We enjoy performing challenging music from both classical and current composers. We feature many guests artists from the Midwest, and collaborate with a variety of talented groups. The practice atmosphere is intense, but fun. Maestro Brad has a unique talent for bringing the orchestra to new heights and encouraging the musicians to go above and beyond what they think is possible.
Membership with CLSO is open to musicians age sixteen and older. We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Alexandria Area High School Music Department and perform six concerts during the season. Rehearsals begin in mid-August and end in May. Dedication to the rehearsal schedule is a must.
